I heard a good bit of traffic on Tifton post this morning as well as yesterday. They are slowly starting to deploy Southern Linc but to my knowledge it’s only supplemental at this time to their VHF system and not a replacement.

The last few weeks the Georgia State Patrol has become silent. I can pick up Manchester Post and that's it. Can someone tell me what happen ?? I'm in Southwest part of the state. Someone said they had gone to Southern link.

Which Posts? Americus is active on DNR Ellaville. Cordele is active. Tifton is active. Perry is active. I live in Cordele and travel over South Georgia for work.
Edited to add - on VHF P25 radios

I travel to Americus and Thomasville next week and will report back to you. Listen to the Americus Post on the DNR Ellaville tower.

Stuff will change (and go silent) as the Southern Linc rollout occurs statewide; who knows which Post gets it first, etc? Not me.

Could have possibly moved onto the area P25 trunked systems. Tift and Lowndes both use fully encrypted P25 trunked systems. It's fairly common for GSP to utilize area trunked systems across the state. Also possible they are moving dispatch to SouthernLinc PTT which is internet based and not possible to monitor.

They have probably migrated to Southern Linc, and if that's the case there is no way to monitor them.

Georgia State Patrol
NEW 2024 - All communications is migrating to SouthernLinc LTE using L3Harris subscriber radios. Coverage Map
Communications will be unmonitorable and will not be patched to any existing infrastructure.
All existing VHF P25 repeaters will only be used as a backup system.
Most of South Georgia has already transitioned to the new LTE system.

Why is this being propagated? Southern Linc is being used already. Just not in every area. GSP has access to trunk systems, DMR, DNR and conventional frequencies.
chill30240, you just need to chill.
But, you can believe what you want............

I've had conversations with 2 troopers, both confirmed they're sunsetting the conventional repeaters statewide. All communications that aren't on trunked systems will be moving to Southern Linc full time. Southern Linc is the new GSP statewide radio system.

waycross gsp p25 repeater is still silent, and our local law enforcement doesn't use any trunked system its all nfm
our local dispatcher has mentioned to an officer trying to get in contact with gsp that they have switched over to lte-radios and to call the dispatch directly

Same info received here. What's more, some of their APX legacy mobiles are already showing up on Ebay.

Unfortunately, we know it's coming. But, up by me and into the NW corner of the state, it's very active. It will be a sad day when they go to Southern Linc.
But, I do believe that they will still have access to their old conventional frequencies. Until then, we'll just have to see. :(

I can verify that here in Western North Carolina / North Georgia this frequency is still in use.

Does anyone know if NE GA has moved over yet? I was monitoring the other day in Jackson co. on I-85. Someone got pulled over by GSP right in front of me, but I didn't hear anything. Suppose they could be on one of the encrypted trunked systems in the area
