I was listening to Flatbush Hatzolah late last night, and heard a code 1 and in Crown Heights a code 2. Anyone know what that means?

Usually it's the other way, Code 3 is lights and sirens. Code 1 is no lights or sirens, cold response. Code 2 is somewhere in the middle but it's not best practice to use, either go lights or don't.

That really depends on the area. I honestly can't think of a single agency in NY that uses that system--most use priority one through four, with one being the highest, or emergent/non-emergent.

I just found out all the info:
Code- cardiac arrest
Code 1 - respond urgently
Code 2- Not emergency call but ride on over to see what's going on

I believe that in Hatzalah radio jargon a Code 1 is when a patient is in cardiac arrest and a Code 2 is when a patient is having difficulty breathing and there is reason to suspect that it may progress to cardiac arrest. Either way, a Code 1 is an urgent response and a Code 2 is less urgent.
I'll often hear them put out a Code 1 and then after the first unit arrives on scene they may downgrade it to a Code 2 and the dispatcher will tell the units to "slow down".
I hope this helps.

As I stated in my previous reply:

Code is a cardiac arrest
Code 1 is an urgent call
Code 2 is not urgent but ride there to see what’s going on

Does anyone know how I can listen to just the RL Hatzalah feed? Right now I listen using the 151.5425 mhz freq and I hear the whole central Hatzalah. Thanks.

If you want to only listen to RL calls you’ll need a radio/scanner capable of MDC1200

I originally put this on another thread:
"I frequently listen to NY Metro area Hatzalah feed. In the Brooklyn Hatzalahs (Flatbush, Boro Park and maybe others as well) the units will often relay to dispatch something that sounds like "we are transporting to IV" or "we are going to IV". Does anyone know what this means? I'm assuming that it doesn't mean to administer IV medication because then the other Hatzalahs on the feed would use that terminology as well. Thanks."
Anyone here can help me with this?

Something is telling me Mamodies is IV. I don’t know why but I kinda remember hearing it mentioned.

That's correct. I just asked someone and they said it's Maimonides. However, it's not IV, it's IZ

Someone did write on the other thread that I'm really hearing "IZ" which stands for Israel Zion which is what Maimonides was called decades ago...
However, I figured I'll put my original question on here to confirm or dispute that...
