I Installed HDSDR the other day, yesterday I set it up to work with my IC-706mkiig, it works great. The audio is strange through my PC speakers. I listened mainly to AM aircraft the audio sounds like sideband sort of. I wonder if the LO and tuned freq offset might be the issue. I'm not sure why the offset exists honestly. Any ideas?

which recording setting did you choose? If you chose AF, youre probably going to get an USB-ish signal (which is how audio spectrum is usually read on the quad side), If you want to capture the full signal, be best to use the IF setting. DO NOT use RF because that records your entire SDR baseband, and will waste MB to GB, IF will record just the signal baseband, and saves more space than anything else.

Ok I will try that. I also ordered a RTL-SDR dongle yesterday I should have it this weekend. That would be my preferred approach, it would free up the 706 for other stuff.
