There are many people who steal property and money through means of deception. The most scary and unfortunately the most successful ones are people who are very personable and come across as good guys. You can say their personalities are psychopathic. I'm even sure Mr. Crack even sleeps at night.

SCAMMING PEOPLE AGAIN - never stopped actually

OK, this guy is up to his old self again. SCAMMING people at hamfests again recently. I've been reseaching this guy for the last 6 hours, and honestly I've lost track of all the complaints. Not only complaints here at RR, but all over the net. This guy is bad news.

A friend was taken (scammed) by Jon Paul Schell at the Peotone hamfest July 15, 2007. If you want all the details, go to the hamsexy site and do a search for his name.

EXACTLY, the professional scammers always come off as a great, nice, respectfull guy. Thats how they gain your trust, then stick it to ya.

I've meet Paul Schell many times at hamfests, and yes he's a nice guy in person.

Just talked to Paul Schell on the phone, and claims he's gonna sue my friends and myself now!!!!!!! I'm thinking to myself, "you ripped us off", under what grounds do you have a legal case against us?

Paul claims under Indiana law from 1921 states: It's illegal for 2 people to enter into a barter agreement with another individual. WHAT!!?? WTF!!?? When I informed him we all live in Illinios, he then claims Federal Laws bla bla bla, then went BULLISTIC and went on a 20 minunte tirade..... I set the phone down and went to get the mail and feed the cat. When I picked up the phone, he was still screaming curse words - even making up a few curse words I've never heard before!

I was threated by Paul many times. Claimed he would hire someone to kick my butt or kill me and friends. Claims he would smash my face into the ground and pump a few rounds into my head - not at all afraid of going to jail.

What Paul fails to realize that he ripped off 3 people, 1 being a Illinois State Trooper. LOL

Ya i noticed this thread is MANY years old. However after punching Pauls name into google, this thread was in the top 10 hits, so i figured I'd just add to this thread so current info on this guy can be searched on google. Had i started a new thread, it may not show up in google.

I'd make sure that the abandoned building was shedualed for demolition...........

I'm not sure if everyone has seen this, but it seems this con artist has been in the biz of scamming for quite a while and it looks like in this case he had a partner.

I also was taken by this a-hole, but fortunately I was able to recoup my money before it all hit the fan. I actually spoke to him as well on the phone. He's so full of it you can smell it over the phone. Hopefully he gets locked up soon. I spoke to others he has scammed here on RR on other sites and for his sake he should turn himself in soon. They are pissed big-time.

It's amazing how these types of individuals get away with screwing people for years without any consequences.

You are so correct. I went to the Police to get their input. Holy smokes, his criminal record was 27 pages long. The officers were stunned. They said his record was the 2nd longest one they'd ever seen. Another officer mentioned he'd like to see Jon Paul's FBI record tomorrow. After police hearing the 7 voice messages he's left on my cell phone, they said he's bi-polar (and probably is not taking any meds for it)

Your correct on cornering him. Everytime I mention something he's done in the past (ripping others off), he gets very defensive, and then threatens to put a civil lawsuit on me. When I tell him, go right ahead, please file a civil lawsuit against me, he goes into a 20 minute tirade making absolutly no sense.

To show how crazy Jon Paul is, he have left no less than 80 SMS text messages on my Blackberry in the past 3 hours.

Imagine if he brought some friviouls civil suit against me, the judge would look at his criminal history, and the case would be dismissed. My criminal history is 1 speeding ticket 10 years ago - other than that its squeky CLEAN!!

Radio Reference members, PLEASE PLEASE take a good look at the photos posted. If you see this guy, do not let him sucker you into one of his scams. If he promises to send you something in the mail, but wants you to pay now, he's gonna scam you.

For my own safety I am not going to to go into the exact details of how I put this scammer behind bars, But to make a long story short, I discovered a very sketchy and familiar post on craigslist last night.. set up a meeting point and a price... got the police involved and they took him to jail. They also recovered thousands of dollars worth of stolen goods.
