• To anyone looking to acquire commercial radio programming software:

Please do not make requests for copies of radio programming software which is sold (or was sold) by the manufacturer for any monetary value. All requests will be deleted and a forum infraction issued. Making a request such as this is attempting to engage in software piracy and this forum cannot be involved or associated with this activity. The same goes for any private transaction via Private Message. Even if you attempt to engage in this activity in PM's we will still enforce the forum rules. Your PM's are not private and the administration has the right to read them if there's a hint to criminal activity.

If you are having trouble legally obtaining software please state so. We do not want any hurt feelings when your vague post is mistaken for a free request. It is YOUR responsibility to properly word your request.

To obtain Motorola software see the Sticky in the Motorola forum.

The various other vendors often permit their dealers to sell the software online (i.e., Kenwood). Please use Google or some other search engine to find a dealer that sells the software. Typically each series or individual radio requires its own software package. Often the Kenwood software is less than $100 so don't be a cheapskate; just purchase it.

For M/A Com/Harris/GE, etc: there are two software packages that program all current and past radios. One package is for conventional programming and the other for trunked programming. The trunked package is in upwards of $2,500. The conventional package is more reasonable though is still several hundred dollars. The benefit is you do not need multiple versions for each radio (unlike Motorola).

This is a large and very visible forum. We cannot jeopardize the ability to provide the RadioReference services by allowing this activity to occur. Please respect this.

Hello all. Long shot here but trying to find a old friend from many years ago. David Ezell 1154 from Channel 15 Anaheim California back in 1986 I was good friends with David. David also was friends with Larry Lazlo WA6SWG that had the pirate radio group on 11 meters. I went by the handle Road Runner and drove a 1968 El Camino. I lived in Orange, CA back then. I ran a Superstar 3900 in my El Camino. Been trying to locate my old friend David for a few years now. If anyone knows of him. Please contact me. Thanks.

Maybe you know this but Larry (Laszlo) WA6SWG passed away 2008 in Twentynine Palms, CA. He was a good friend of mine. I don't remember meeting your friend David.

wow wow wow didn't know that. Did Larry live in Twentynine Palms? I drive through that area often when I go to see my parents in CA. I currently live in Havasu. I actually was trying to locate Larry just a few weeks ago cause I have a few old Pace Sidetalk cb radios that need repairs and I know he was one of the engineers of that radio. I personally met Larry once with David in Long Beach. David and I had drove out to Long Beach to discuss some business with him. I was young at that time in 1986 18 years old now 57 years old. We'll I'll keep trying to find my old friend David Ezell. Really appreciate your response.

Larry moved to Twentynine Palms as he was basically destitute and had nowhere else to go. He had also lived in Harbor City working for Tom Tronics and living in a camper trailer behind the shop then in Ventura and Big Bear for awhile. Last time he came by my place in the early 2000s he was looking pretty bad, couldn't move around very well and was wearing a wig due to hair loss.
