• To anyone looking to acquire commercial radio programming software:

Please do not make requests for copies of radio programming software which is sold (or was sold) by the manufacturer for any monetary value. All requests will be deleted and a forum infraction issued. Making a request such as this is attempting to engage in software piracy and this forum cannot be involved or associated with this activity. The same goes for any private transaction via Private Message. Even if you attempt to engage in this activity in PM's we will still enforce the forum rules. Your PM's are not private and the administration has the right to read them if there's a hint to criminal activity.

If you are having trouble legally obtaining software please state so. We do not want any hurt feelings when your vague post is mistaken for a free request. It is YOUR responsibility to properly word your request.

To obtain Motorola software see the Sticky in the Motorola forum.

The various other vendors often permit their dealers to sell the software online (i.e., Kenwood). Please use Google or some other search engine to find a dealer that sells the software. Typically each series or individual radio requires its own software package. Often the Kenwood software is less than $100 so don't be a cheapskate; just purchase it.

For M/A Com/Harris/GE, etc: there are two software packages that program all current and past radios. One package is for conventional programming and the other for trunked programming. The trunked package is in upwards of $2,500. The conventional package is more reasonable though is still several hundred dollars. The benefit is you do not need multiple versions for each radio (unlike Motorola).

This is a large and very visible forum. We cannot jeopardize the ability to provide the RadioReference services by allowing this activity to occur. Please respect this.

I was conducting tests in my workplace laboratory, configuring an IP SITE CONNECT system between four SLR 5100 repeaters (one master and three others). The goal was to enable over-the-air programming with the MOTOTRBO RM system and others. Everything was going well until, suddenly, the first LED on the front panel of the slave repeater, the one with the bell symbol, changed from green to red. To try to figure out what was wrong, I tried to read it on the RDAC, but it appears “locked” with padlocks and I can't see what the problem is. I tried to delete the entire codeplug and program it from scratch, but it is still locked. I transformed it into a separate master and changed its IP address, all in order to read it, but it is still locked and the red LED is on. I don't know what to do.

Here in this photo, I am reading it remotely via USB, but the same thing happens if I read it via IP.
In the RDAC documentation, in the section on “status: locked,” it says that to fix it, you have to call a technician to look at the codeplug... I don't see anything in the codeplug. Anyway, if anyone can help me, I would be very grateful.

Your repeater is locked. You need to read the RDAC or alarm log and see why. Typically it is high VSWR or some hardware failure. Do you have antennas or dummy loads on the transmit ports?

Hello, thank you very much! I was able to read the RDAC log, and it turns out that it was a manufacturing defect in the power supply board.

Firmware seems really old. Read it and write it again. Or, unplug for 60 seconds and plug it back in. Upgrade FW to latest you can.

The SLR5700 was first released in 2015 -- Firmware from the release notes "Repeater: SLR 5700 R01.02.00". So you are missing some 10 years of bug fixes and enhancements.

You can walk it forward to R2.10.10, but I'm not sure you can jump directly.

Then you can buy an Entitlement and walk it forward in the M202x releases.

Repeater - SLR 1000, SLR 5000, SLR 8000 - R20.25.01.11 is current.

Also, you need to look at the RDAC logs to find out what's going on under the covers.
