Ok so I recently have purchased a RS Pro - 107 very new to this hobby. Actually this is my first scanner purchase, it is a used unit. Im trying to understand some things. Area im trying to scan and listen to is Lewisville, Tx I should probably actually try to post this in the Texas area but most of my questions are about the scanner in general.
1. I listen to my local PD and hear them say go to channel 2, or to NCIC something like that can I switch to the freq. or continue listening to what they are talking about some how? I dont get as much chatter as I thought I would, seems like I may be missing something this area is highly busy with all kinds of PD, and FD chatter.
2. What does the "T" mean? I believe the "A" is for Analog and im not sure what the "G" is on the screen ?
3. I see the FBI come up on the screen but it says encrypted whats the trick to listen?
4. What is the best type of antenna to get the best quality reception for this scanner?
5. I have still yet to figure how to manually type in a freq. with this darn thing. ( only because I got nothing for programming this from my PC, no cables, software, nuttin.)
Thanks for your time in advance, and please feel free to add me on MSN if it makes it easier to chat there.
