I've programmed the scanner for a APCO-25 system. http://www.radioreference.com/modules.php?name=TRSDB&sid=852
After, programming the frequencies using the Mot setup the scanner does not stay on any frequency long enough to track anything. I receive the signals but it continues scanning.
Something I'm doing is incorrect. The system hold time and the channel delay time are both set for 2 sec.
Any help would be appreciated.

Hello,

Check your programming and make sure you programmed the System as MOT 800 STANDARD, not MOT P25.

Hi Dave

I have it set to Mot P-25 If you click on the url in my post it shows it as a APCO-25 system. If that's correct then I have it set right.

It's not a true P25 trunked system as it has analog and digital talkgroups.

Basically it's an old Motorola Smartzone system which uses P25 standard modulation for it's digital talkgroups.

Set your radio to MOT 800 Standard and it should work fine.

Uh, no. The RRDB indicates this system is 3600 Mixed Mode, Analog or Digital Voice. MOT P25 is used for 9600 BPS PURE DIGITAL SYTEMS. You cannot use the MOT P25 setting for 3600 Systems, even if all voice is digital.

Try the MOT STANDARD Setting and let us know if it works.

This is confusing, cuz I don't see any reference in this system to Fleet maps which Mot standard 800 is asking.
Disregard the Fleetmap. It is a MOT TYPE II System. No need to go into Menu for FLEETMAP. Just Set the system as MOT STANDARD, Program the frequencies, and if you wish, you can set it to Control Channel Only Mode.
