To obtain Motorola software see the Sticky in the Motorola forum.

The various other vendors often permit their dealers to sell the software online (i.e., Kenwood). Please use Google or some other search engine to find a dealer that sells the software. Typically each series or individual radio requires its own software package. Often the Kenwood software is less than $100 so don't be a cheapskate; just purchase it.

For M/A Com/Harris/GE, etc: there are two software packages that program all current and past radios. One package is for conventional programming and the other for trunked programming. The trunked package is in upwards of $2,500. The conventional package is more reasonable though is still several hundred dollars. The benefit is you do not need multiple versions for each radio (unlike Motorola).

Do you want only one page channel for both department for two different channels?
Also do you want the audio to be muted until a page is received?

With the software I have (CE59 for VX829) I need to enter the decode tones and options under Signalling -> 2-Tone Decode

Tones are dropped through one feq. but as long as I can get them both to be able to be paged I don't care which. and no I must be able to keep the audio on so the Firefighter can here what the call is.

Can you post a screencap of the 2-Tone decode menu? (Signalling -> 2-Tone Decode)

Fire F1 is the main Channel both Fire depts are toned/paged out on, and operates on as well.
Channel's 15 & 16 is the paging Channels for both depts on this radio. Firefighter is wanting to be able to be paged out for either department with out having to have it in that departments paging channel. or with out having to have the radio on the main Fire F1 channel all the time.

Program I am using is CE86
