Sorry if this is listed somewhere, but I can't figure it ou. I am visiting Seattle and am hot, tired and hot. I programmed in the seattle system and can see activity on the signal srength monitor on my BCD 386XT but no talkgroups come up - evenin ID search mode.

can someone give me the exact settings in freescan to upload? I have it as a MOT type II/ P25 with the main seattle control freq in . any other settings necessary?

Thanks for the help.

This sounds very much like you have no quick keys for the talkgroups you want to hear allocated and/or enabled. This is guesswork, of course, unless we can see your file. Zip (compress) it (using any of the well known tools such as WinZip or 7zFM) and attach it to your reply (a little ways down the screen, you will see a large button that says 'manage attachments').

Another possibility is that you are not receiving the site well enough to decode it. The King County system is multi-site - did you try programming a site closer to you?

Yep, I think AT is right. You probably don't have any quick keys assigned... (or you're in P25 mode.)

I have a system here in Maryland set up with the same type as the King system - on the System screen in FreeScan, the system type should be 'Mot Type II/P25' (which is read 'type 2 OR p25) and on the Site Screen, select 'Mot 800 Mhz Standard (Type II)'. HTH 73 Mike

Thanks for the help. I have it in ID search (all talkgroups) and have quick keys for groups, so this can't be it. I am sure it is something simple and not signal strength because I can see the bars up to 5 (full strength), just no groups locking in. Squelch is low, etc. Any strange settings like motorola bits, etc??

Also, note that the RR DB says Systme ID and connect tone. Does this have to be progarmmed in if so where?

Why not do it from the radio itself? It's not that complicated:

Press Func Key
Sel Program System
Sel New System
Sel MOT
Sel 800Mhz Standard
Press Yes Key
Sel Set Frequencies
Press 868.175 (Sel)
Press Func key (5 times) to get back to main screen

(Press any quick keys that are enabled (so turn them all off))

You should now be hearing your new system.

(The Func Key is on left side, the Sel button on top)
