help with getting 296 repaired

I need to get my volume and squelch nobs fixed on my BC296 do I have to send the unit back to Uniden??

I need to do the same thing...vol/squelch pot blew up (dropped too many times)

I do think we have to send them back to Uniden....no warranty coverage either....

I will try out my local electronics repair shop they do motorola radios and stuff maybe they can help..

If the unit is less than 1 year old the unit can be sent to Uniden and repaired for free.

As long as its not due to damage/abuse (which multiple drops will most likely be considered), it will cost you 49.95 flat rate. Will most likley come back like new.

Thanks for the respone,I am sending it back to Uniden today to get fixed,I only dropped it the 1 time (which was 1 time to many for me usually I carry it like a baby) they said it would be 2-3 weeks to get back to me so hope that is true I miss it already glad I have the 796D for back up...

I called 6-8 different radio/electronics shops in my area and nobody would touch it so have to go back to Uniden,oh well I just want it fixed and fixed right...
