Hello all,

I am having a problem with programming a bank for UHF-lo. I found the information needed in the database on this site but can not get the bank to let me input an Step.

I am using:
Base - 406.2375
Offset - 380

and need the Step to be 12.5. All I get are keypad beeps when I try to input this.

This what I am trying to use :
http://www.radioreference.com/modules.php?name=TRSDB&sid=2935

Can someone please help figure out why this is occuring? I appreciate any help with this.

K

What type of system are you trying to program. Trunked, LTR or conventional?

I am not sure about that. Does the link that I provided give that information? I bought this scanner and it was programmed for me, so I am new at this type thing. I appreciate the reply. Thanks.

OK, this is just one system with three control channels. You only need to program the control channels (the freqs in red).

Enter these: 406.2375, 407.0375, 407.6375. Be sure all are set to MOT for trunking.
The system only shows seven talkgroups, so there should be no problem running in OPenmode. Try that and I'll check back in a little while for your response.

Thanks for the reply. I put the frequencies in in the order that you posted and now the display is flashing when it gets a hit from the first control channel. No voice just static.

Do I still need to try to use the base, offset and step for this? I did not do that, I just used an unused bank for this.

Thanks,
K

According to everything I see on the link, that should have done it. It still sounds as if you are scanning in FM mode instead of MOT. Can you double check that?

Second idea: Try starting from scratch in new bank. Ignore the base and offset settings. Just program the freqs as I advised.

I did use a new bank and each freq has +MO in the top right hand corner of the display.

When it hits a frequency the display shows VC 0.00000 and the MOT: at the bottom is changing 3 or 4 times a sec. Does that help you any?

Thanks,
K

Last idea. Go to www.starrsoft.com and download Win95. You will also need to go buy a programming cable from Radio Shack. I use the 20-047 USB cable. I'll check back tonight and see how it is going.

You will need to enter the base, offset and step as listed.

Page 59 in the owners manual refers.

Use the up/down buttons (not the numbered keys) to select the correct step size,

As dangitdoug stated, insure each of the CC's are set as MO Note: the upper right corner of display should indicate MO for each. Also, Press PGM>TRUNK and set the mode to MOT: on line 3 of display.

Edit: BTW, all of those talkgroups listed are digital, and my experience with this type of system is that there may be no analog talkgroups.

fmon is correct. I missed the D mode info in the database. You cannot receive a digital system with the Pro95. You will need a digital ready scanner.

That's what I was gonna add myself. When all I had was a Pro-95, I tried to pick up Fort Bragg's similar system, then discovered i couldn't because it was Apco-25. That sucked.

I told him this same thing yesterday, probably for this same exact system......... AND with the Pro 95 you need to input ALL of the channels, not just control channels for trunking systems.......

Tthe Pro's-93, 95, 96 and 2096 are CC only scanners for Motorola systems.

You are correct. I've had my 95 for a little over 2 years and never knew about this feature. I just scanned through the manual and confirmed this. You learn something new every day here!!

But, my comment above is valid with EDACS systems. Just so I don't feel too dumb......

Thanks!

The link you provided says it is a Motorola type II Smart Zone. Analog and APCO-25
Common Air Interface. It uses the costom frequency table. Put the table in the scanner.
Each freq has to be Motorola and also the bank has to be set to Motorola. You will be able to copy the analog transmissions with the Pro95 but not the digital. You will need a digital to get the digital talk groups if they are any. Oh and also since it is a custom table you will have to select custom in the scanner before it will accept the table.
