It looks good, however those agencies don't use WISCOM for daily operations. You will want to add the State Patrol talkgroups and other interops. You won't hear much on the stuff you have programmed.

I haven’t monitored Rock County, Beloit or Janesville since moving out of the area a couple years ago. At that time each agency was using conventional P25 frequencies with non trunked base repeater systems. Most traffic was in the clear but the Tactical channels were encrypted. Here is a link to the database.

Nope, you aren't using a Pro-96. If you want to hear everything on the site you need to program a wildcard talkgroup.

Beloit is on the PD channels, they do use encryption on their channels and they are also simulcast. It could be that you scanner is having issues with the simulcast or the encryption.

I’ve programmed all the Pro Series and Whistler scanners from the key pad. The Wild Card is a setting to receive any talk group that is not programmed into the scanner. On a Pro 197 on a trunked system you only receive unlocked Talk Groups that programmed into the scanner that are not encrypted. Turning on the wild card lets you hear any unencrypted talk group that transmits on the tower/site your receiving on a trunked system.

The Mark’s easy to read scanner manual makes it easier to figure out how to do task in programming from the key pad without using software.

If you still have issues understanding your Pro-197 you can send me a message on this forum. We can exchange emails or I can give you my phone number. I’m retired and have the time to help.
