I have been using a BCD325P2 for several years to monitor Viper, and before that a 396XT. I am very used to the way the quick keys function on these models, as I enable and disable sites as I move around. I am now considering moving up to a 436hp, but trying to build a file in Sentinel, I am somewhat perplexed in the best way to structure the quick keys to mimic what I currently have on the 325p2. Can someone with a 436hp tell me how they have theirs setup for Viper, as far as switching sites without using GPS?

Thanks

You can use 1 favorites list with 1 system for Viper. Departments and sites share a group of 100 quick keys for each system. You can use quick keys 0-9 for departments like you would for groups in the BCD325P2. That would leave quick keys 10-99 available for sites. To toggle a department/site quick key on and off, you press the decimal point twice, then the department/site quick key number, and then E. If you make an error, press SYSTEM or AVOID to exit and resume scanning. Make sure you assign a quick key to the system, like 0. If you accidentally turn off all of the departments or sites, you will need the system quick key to be able to resume scanning without having to go into the menu.

OK, that makes sense. Where I was getting confused was the sharing of the department and site quick keys. But using the method you describe, 0-9 for departments (groups), and 10-99 for sites it becomes clear.

Thank you

I have my 436 programmed as suggested and it is working fantastic on Viper. I have no problem switching sites and departments using the quick keys. Thank you tvengr.
