Sounds like April Fools!

Wonder if they work with the guys that work on SAFE-T? Seriously, we feel your pain guys.

As for an *dead key* carrier on CC.. That is the test signal, and can go on for days, weeks, months until they start sending actual data over it. I once monitored an new TRS coming online, and remember that one site came on rather quickly, but all the other sites ran that test signal for nearly 3 months until all the sites in that part of the *zone* were finished. then they brought them all on in site trunking for about an week, then turned on the entire zone in wide area trunking. Was frustrating to only have that continuous nothing for all that time. But oh happy day when they brought the system on in WAT.

Hearing from my source in the area that system goes live in May.

Same source indicated dispatch talk groups will NOT be encrypted.

All agencies in Henderson County will be going to the new system. I know county fire units will be keeping their vhf radios and will still be using them for some fire ground ops due to having their own repeaters. From what I understand all city departments will be completely removing their VHF radios. From what we were told that HPD will be encrypted between officer to officer, will be able to hear dispatches tho. Not completely sure if sheriff's department will do the same as HPD.

Testing some one called me today says he is hearing testing?

Anyone in Henderson hearing anything? He was using a phase 1 scanner....But heard clear voice.

Nothing over hear ,I am not sure they are testing on the repeater and wonder if they are on talk around or something else.
