I have been monitoring the system for about a week. Some services are now working, seems that dispatch is on P25 but the emergency services are still on Vhf. I had added several talkgroups to the database from what I have monitored.

Originally, they only had EIRP of 47.1 Watts at all three sites. Now there is a modification to the license to increase the EIRP to 100 Watts at backup 911 center site (1449 CORPORATE COURT).

At less than 50 watts, not surprised that they don't have very good coverage. Another great design by the big M.

I won't judge the "great design" from behind a keyboard, since I don't know the parameters they had to work within- budget, site and frequency availability, local politics, etc.

I will say that if 3.27dB(47.1W to 100W) makes a significant difference between "working" and "not working" that I would not be pleased to be tasked with using or maintaining it.

I don't have a scanner that will monitor the new system but the old frequencies are still being used. I have noticed that on weekends there is a "digital type noise" (think "KSP digital / motor boating) since I have no way to check the new system I can't be sure if its them possibly running patches or not. Maybe someone in Henderson or Evansville might be able to monitor both and confirm or rule out. It might be much info, but I hope it helps

LOL Yeah right I live right across the bridge and I can't even pick up that system! But that being said I did hear it well down around Hanson KY.

Looks like the design was lacking. Those of us who design systems see this all the time with MOTO. They like to claim how they can provide a cheap system. Most people will not hold their feet to the fire and force them to provide coverage they promised. Good for Henderson, except they now have to deal with MOTO and the software/maintenance contracts for the life of the system that can be well over $100K per year.

BTW, designs are done behind the keyboard.

Henderson has now switched to their new 700 MHz system, I am told.
Can anyone please confirm all Law Enforcement are ENC?
Are you able to hear the dispatchers in the clear?
Oddly we just cant hear system across the river.

Thanks

Small update:

TG 1050 ENC user UNKNOWN
TG 1001 ENC user UNKNOWN

I did notice HPD still on VHF analog and did not hear them on 700 Mhz system, Unless some units were using 700 trunking and other wern't.

I just saw this news story on henderson radio system appears Law enforcemnet is enc.
One correction in this story KSP is not ENC, they have been digital for years but not ENC..

I can still hear city fire and PD, EMS, and county FD are still being broadcast on VHF (simulcast?) I thought I heard SO for a little bit on Monday 10/30/17 but I can't be sure, but haven't heard them since. A friend of mine on one of the county fire depts. said they were going to be using their same paging system pagers & portables (VHF) and apparently are going to use a patch from the new to the old.

Had a customer overnite borrow a BCD 325P2 scanner, the news is bad.

Sheriff is ENC
HPD is ENC
Both side of conversation
One Note for now he was hearing HPD patched to VHF analog.
On Digital scanner HPD both sides were ENC.

Sorry for the update but this is what we know for now.

Unfortunately I have not heard a peep from Henderson County in almost a week on the VHF side. Sorry it's taken a while to reply due to a mini-stroke I had on the 3rd. Hopefully things will work towards our favor or technology will swing our way.

Nah,

Just a dream.
