Hi this is my first post to the forum. I live in Hickory County MO. The old analog HCSO 155.715 was active until a few weeks ago. Now I only hear an occasional data burst(?) reminds me of a control channel noise. I know MOSWIN has a site in Wheatland which is in Hickory CO but i hear no HCSO traffic there.Does anyone have any information on Hickory County? I did hear what sounded like electricians or maybe radio techs last week talking on a Fire Dept tower saying that hickory co was going digital. I have a HP2 and a 536HP but have had no luck.I should add I am a novice to digital scanning so am sure I can learn a lot from you folks.Any help much appreciated. Thanks.

Yes, Hickory County Sheriff is now MotoTRBO DMR. CMH ambulance in Hickory will be MotoTRBO DMR before the end of the year, too.

Thank you so much KA5YTH. I am trying to wrap my head around MOTOTRBO and DMR. Stupid question. Is this something I will be able to listen to on my HP2 or BCD536HP? I really miss the HCSO and all the Med and fire calls. Thanks

I'm not sure, but I really doubt you can decode DMR without getting something specific for DMR.

Cheapest DMR Receiver: Tytera (TYT) MD-380 DMR Digital Two Way Radio

AND you can get on the air with it!

Some programming learning curve, but lots of help on the internets!

You can decode DMR with a BCD536HP as long as you have purchased the DMR upgrade from Uniden.

A big thank you for all the help. I actually have dual residence. I live half the week up here in OP,KS and the other half in Hickory County,MO. I have downloaded and installed the DMR upgrade for the BCD536HP and it seems to work. There is a heck of a learning curve for a guy who has been out of the hobby several years now. I will update when I get back down to Hickory on Wednesday. Thanks again for all the kind advice and information. Steve
