High Speed Chase Through Weld County

There was a high speed chase this morning down US Highway 85 from Greeley south to Brighton. Speeds were topping 100 mph. The suspect vehicle was traveling numerous times down the wrong lanes of traffic on US Highway 85 at a high rate of speed while also pointing a gun at officers and attempting to ram officer's vehicles. The suspect vehicle collided with a Brighton police car in an attempt to get through a road block and became stuck in the median. The swat team has arrived on scene and broken the vehicle's windows and deployed tear gas twice. It appears the female suspect may be injured however alive and being taken into custody. Numerous agencies are involved including Greeley Police, Weld County SO, Brighton Police, Adams County SO and State Patrol.

I would estimate upwards of forty to fifty police vehicles were involved in the chase which ended West of US Highway 85 on E 168th Avenue NW of Brighton.

It turns out the suspect is deceased per local news. She was wanted out of Mesa county as a "person of interest" in a homicide and stated she had a gun and would commit suicide if contacted by the police.

The suspect also hit two vehicles at 1150 O Street in Greeley prior to the chase heading South down US Highway 85.
