Guys,

Need another favor from anyone in the Morris/Sussex county area that has SDR dongles set up with DSD+ (or a tapped scanner).

I spent my lunchtime today following up on info given to me by a friend in Budd Lake regarding their PD on DMR. I was also able to confirm that their channel shows no TGID or UID on the 436, and scanning that frequency as OFT completely fails to stop on anything.

That's a damn good sign that they are running RAS. Can anyone confirm via DSD that they are running RAS & provide the 'PD 1' talkgroup?

Thanks!

Do you know if Hopatcong police on DMR is trunked or conventional. I'm using a TRX1 and missing transmissions for slot2. I have them programmed in as conventional.

They are conventional, and since no one has yet submitted the TG for Police 2 (assuming they even use slot 2 - that channel is purely an assumption), there's nothing to really worry about on that.

I have been monitoring them in 1 Freq P25 Trunk mode and haven't seen any evidence of a ch. 2 so far.

I pick up multiple talk groups for them when doing a limit search for DMR on TRX1. They all say slot 1.
Talk groups such as TG 1912101,TG 1912104,TG 1912200. However Database says TG 1912000 is slot 1. I pick up more on a Limit Search then I do monitoring conventional as for some reason it doesn't stop on some transmissions on Conventional mode. Possibly slot2 is reported as slot1 for the TRX1 plus TRX1 has DMR bug doesn't pick up slot 2. Not sure if slot 2 is even used. Perhaps some san chime in with some info on that.

Thanks for that info. Interesting that the Whistler TRX1 reports those other talk groups in Limit Search.
I'm borrowing the TRX1 I see you have both a TRX1 and BCD436HP. While the TRX1 works good for P25 and NXDN which model of the BCD436HP and TRX1 do you find does better for picking up Hopatcong DMR.

Sounds like the 536/436 would be a better choice for DMR. I'm over 15 miles also but throw a VHF/UHF homebrew Yagi at them.

Hopatcong is only using TS1. There is nothing at all on
TS2 and most likely won't be anytime soon. They should put FD/EMS on their but nope. Oh well.

I wouldn't be surprised if the Police Chief doesn't want anyone on the PD system. When the PD went DMR, the PD didn't let the ACO/ACI stay on the frequency.

I hope this is in the right post. Here's my question, can HPD still talk to EMS if HPD is DMR. Because it says

in the Database 155.295 is also HPD's Channel 7 and this is Analog.

Interesting, I just thought it would be just DMR or Analog. Thank you for the answer.
