If I upgrade my membership and buy the software for my scanner will I be able to transfer these frequencies to my scanner.
FCC Licenses and Scanner Frequencies for Floyd County, Georgia (GA)

Rome/Floyd county is installing a new communication system and in the link above it shows the 800mhz frequencies that they applied for in 2009, and does anybody know if this system is digital or analog, I have a lot to learn like talkgroups, stat, pag, code, trunking, etc. thanks for any help you may provide to make it a little easier for me to understand the modern day scanners.

Wish you all a Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year.

Go to this page on Radio Reference in the database for more information on your radio system.
Floyd County, Georgia (GA) Scanner Frequencies and Radio Frequency Reference
It looks like your system is analog and some parts are LTR. Look at all the information provided on the page including the Wiki page
Also, make sure that the software that you are using to program your radio has the capability of downloading this information to your scanner.
I use the RadioReference premium subscription and use ARC500 programming software for my Radio Shack Pro 197. It really simplifies getting your scanner up and running.

You did not mention which scanner or program you will be using so I am assuming you have a radio that is programmable and compatable for the previous information to be applicable.

You probably don't want to transfer all FCC licenses to your scanner, as many are not active or verified. You can cut and paste from this page, but I do not believe you can automatically transfer it to your scanner.

What you CAN transfer is anything on this page: Floyd County, Georgia (GA) and this page: Georgia Scanner Frequencies

I would wait until this system is in use and hopefully added to the page above. Then you can download it and all the talk groups. Based on http://mmi-comm.tripod.com/ed.html I think it will be digital. Suggest you go to the GA forum and ask there.

Thanks all, for the replies to my post

My brother bought a Pro-164 for his Son for Christmas and I programed it with ARC 300, I am test driving the ARC300 trial version and it had two free downloads from Radio Reference.com.

I know the Pro-164 is not a digital scanner, so I am thinking about the Pro 106 or 197, already upgraded my membership here, and I kinda like the ARC300 program, just hope that when Rome/Floyd County gets the system up and running there will be an update here to cover all the trunked 800 mhz frequencies AND the Rome/Floyd County frequencies are not scrambled to where you can't monitor what they are saying.

Thanks
Ron

Ok, guys/gals, I am new at this. This post is pretty close to my question so I will ask here. I am a premium subscriber. The gre/rs arc500 software does not have the info i am looking for so I did a manual search and found what I am looking for. Here is the link:
Department of Public Safety (DPS) Scanner Frequencies and Radio Frequency Reference
Toward the bottom is the troop h info I would like to add to the pro 106. Can I just copy and past to the software and if so wont the info be scrambled? It appears I might have to input all that info 1 line at a time. your thoughts?

I am a newbie for the most part but I know I can strongly recommend the arc500 software ( Scanner Master - Police Scanners by Uniden Bearcat, AOR and Radio Shack. ) and a patch cable from radio shack (about $40) or you can download it from the link I provided. It is so simple to use and will create a backup for your scanner. When you buy the cable, it will come with the scanner software as a trial which must be upgraded for another $40 or so.
After you install the software and open it you will see a "download" button. Hit download, save and voila, you have a backup.

Warning....this can become addictive!

That really is not a database question; it is a RS or software question though, and either forum would be the place to ask it

best regards..Mike
