How to clean buttons on PSR500

Hey guys. Have a well used 500 and was wondering how to get the yellow buttons clear again or is it basically a sign of age? Thanks

If they turned tan or as you say a yellow color, then someone in the house is very likely a smoker?
Seen this many times and its always been where someone smokes. Side note, maybe the buttons turning brown is trying to teach a lesson?
I saw one that turned a dark brown and they stated they actually had a house fire!

Cleaning is possible I'm sure, but presumably would it also remove the numbers, lettering, etc. from the buttons?

It is a sign of age. I have a PRO-106 that is approaching 10 years of use in a non smoking environment and the keypad is turning to a yellowish brown shade.

As long as the buttons work properly when pressed you are good.

It's nicotine (imagine what that scanner owner's lungs look like).

Try a Q-Tip dipped in bleach.

Old toothbrush, spray with Windex and shake off excess, then scrub lightly and dry with paper towels.

It should be really easy to clean then since its not nicotine.

I've had a PSR500 for nearly 10 years of heavy use and found that just a dab of bleach or cleaner (Windex, etc) on a Q-Tip should do the trick.

Alcohol prep pads such as those used in the doctor's office before giving a shot work great for cleaning off fingertip grime. I use them for cleaning computer keyboards also.
