I have a post I want to edit and I can't find anything on editing a post any help would be appreciated.

What I need to do is remove a LINK in one of my post's and replace it with a better link, that's it and I can't seem to find this feature.

Ok there is an edit feature HERE in this specific forum because I am using it right now to write this BUT this edit button does not appear in the ( Regional Radio Discussion Forums ) that I am needing to edit, what gives?

After you have made your modifications, a note may appear, which notifies other users that you have edited your post. Administrators and moderators may also edit your messages but this note may not appear when they do so.

I just made a test post in the Regional Radio Discussion Forums (Minnesota) section. And the edit button appears on it. However when I went to some older posts I made in that forum, there is not an edit button.

So the answer would probably be, that you only have a certain amount of time to edit your post. I know on one other forum I used to regular, it was 45 seconds.

Edit: Mtnbiker answered it before I had a chance to click post. LOL Looks like the time limit on these forums is 2 hours, so now you have your answer. :)

You can edit posts in any forum up to 2 hours after the initial post. After 2 hours the edit button disappears.

Only a moderator or administrator can edit it after that. At the bottom of every forum is a list of moderators specific to that forum, you could send one of them a PM with your edit request (but RR may have a policy against editing a user's post for non-disciplinary reasons).

Probably easiest/best to simply make a new post with your new link it in. ;)

If I dare ask: Why the two hour limit? and why no "delete" option?

Because the site admin chose 2 hours, his board, his choice. Be lucky he was so lenient in his decision, some boards I have been on only allow 45 seconds. Others have been 30 days, just depends on what the administrator or administrators decide.

As far as a delete option, I believe here, it is the moderators power and rightly so, it is what they are here for :p

Your master site
Thank you Ron for mentioning that thread.

The forum where that thread exists states the following: "For threads regarding rules and guidelines for using the forums. If you post on these forums these threads are REQUIRED reading."

Anything to do with administration in these forums will always be in that forum unless it is specific to a forum (i.e., a Sticky) or applies to a forum Category (i.e., an Announcement).
