How to enter a Canadian Zipcode?

I know CA uses a different numeric sequence than the US, So how did you enter it on your X36HP?

Sheldon..Trying to do this through ARC536 is probably why you didn't get many replies to your post earlier...
From the Radio, press the ZIP button, and select CA....
Then after, go into Sentinel, and download from the 436HP..this will save it in your profile
All the configuration, should really be done in Sentinel, As you were trying it in ARC
Like Paul said, use the 4 and the 6 buttons, and scroll for characters with the volume control...after each digit..each time use the 6 button to navigate to the next field...What is your actual ZIP?

Canadian postal codes are 6 alphanumeric digits in the form letter-number-letter-number-letter-number. In the x36 radio, however, it only uses the first three digits. So if your postal code is M5W1E6, just put in M5W.

The use of only the first three digits of the postal code does cause a problem, but there's not much we can do about it. The first three digits only indicate the general zone. In urban areas this might be OK, but in very rural areas, this area is enormous - take, for example, A0E which covers the entire Burin Peninsula of Newfoundland. This is a peninsula 80 miles long and 10 to 30 miles wide. If I go to my mother's hometown (Swift Current) and put in the postal code for there (A0E 2W0, but the radio only accepts A0E), the radio includes data from everywhere up and down the peninsula, including the town of Marystown (A0E 2M0), 75 miles distant.

I have the bcd536hp not the 436hp. I'm actually using a combination of methods to try to enter in my postal code. I just need to enter in the last 3 digits. '3C3'?. The Sentinel software is only good for updating and upgrading the firmware and the database.

The Sentinel software Is NOT 'only good for' anything. It does everything you need.

You don't enter the last 3 of your postal code into the radio at all. Like I said in the post immediately above yours, you enter only the first 3 digits of your postal code.

That is incorrect.

Zip code can be set in Sentinel.

From the tool bar in Sentinel click on... edit --> edit profile --> click on the location settings tab and click on zip code.

In some cases that's true and in others it's not; however in the case of entering a zip or postal code into a scanner, it means nothing.
