In the conventional database listings, the "Mode" column tells you if it is DMR, NXDN, P25, etc.

On the other hand, maybe I'm not clear on your question....

Every channel and system in the database is labeled. And when receiving a transmission, the scanner tells you.

AM 10KHz analog AM
CAP DMR MotoTRBO Capacity+ control data
CON DMR MotoTRBO Connect+ control channel
DMR DMR Tier I/II
DT3 DMR Tier Tier III control channel
ENC Encrypted (may be any type of digital)
FM 25KHz analog FM
FMB 200KHz analog stereo broadcast FM
NFM 12.5KHz analog FM
NX4 NXDN 4800
NX9 NXDN 9600
P25 P25*Phase I
PRV ProVoice
PT0 P25 Phase II time slot 0
PT1 P25 Phase II time slot 1
WFM Analog TV broadcast audio

So the display will tell you if it's DMR or NXDN? I guess I have never received either one.

Dennis,

With the 436, to receive DMR or NXDN there are two things you have to do.

1st: You have to purchase and enter Keys from Uniden to enable DMR and NXDN on your scanner. DMR costs $60 and NXDN currently costs $30. The price for NXDN will go up to $60 once Sentinel is updated to handle it.

2nd: You have to enter (program) DMR or NXDN systems or frequencies into your scanner.

Once you've done the above, you can then start to monitor for both.

Thanks Bud. I have purchased and installed the keys. I am using the zip code location service for my programming. Is this all I would have to do, or would I have to manually enter the DMR/NXDN frequencies in a favorites list?

Jon, did you copy and paste this list, and if so, where can it be found? Thanks
