After updating the database on the Sentinel program, when I write it to the HP-1, does everything on Sentinel get "rewritten," so to speak, to the scanner, or just the database?

If everything (i.e., favorite lists) does get written to the HP-1, how can I just send the updated database thru?

Any suggestions / tips / comments will be appreciated.

Thanks in advance.

When you update the database, that's the only thing that gets updated. Any updates, changes, or additions to the Favorites lists are unchanged.

When you choose "write to Home Patrol", by default, your Favorites lists, as you currently have them in Sentinel, would also be written. However, Sentinel will warn you that the copy in Sentinel is different than the on on the HP-1 itself, and ask if it should be over-written (i.e. 'copy & replace'). You can then either choose to over-write it (or update, if you prefer that term), write it to the HP-1 under a new name, or skip it (no download).

You can also go into your profile in Sentinel, and set "download" to off for one or more Favorites lists. Then, Sentinel will no longer download that list to the scanner as part of the normal update process.

Thanks for the information hiegtx. I appreciate it.
