To obtain Motorola software see the Sticky in the Motorola forum.

The various other vendors often permit their dealers to sell the software online (i.e., Kenwood). Please use Google or some other search engine to find a dealer that sells the software. Typically each series or individual radio requires its own software package. Often the Kenwood software is less than $100 so don't be a cheapskate; just purchase it.

For M/A Com/Harris/GE, etc: there are two software packages that program all current and past radios. One package is for conventional programming and the other for trunked programming. The trunked package is in upwards of $2,500. The conventional package is more reasonable though is still several hundred dollars. The benefit is you do not need multiple versions for each radio (unlike Motorola).

I finally decided to call Joey at Atlantic Radio. He issued a RMA to get it repaired. This seems to be a known issue. Thank you @Muxlow again for your assistance.

I've had the same experience as some of you described here. What is the bottom line solution? Can you reshare that firmware @Muxlow? Is Hytera planning on releasing a fixed firmware for this?

Hytera should have a updated fw out in 30 days or less

I had one of my HP782's fail and was just a black screen. Shut the radio off. Held the PTT and...orange? button i think while turning it on and the red light flashed then went solid and i was able to redo the fw upgrade and problem solved on that one radio

Thank you @Muxlow

That folder appears to be empty?

I've also tried this:
I had one of my HP782's fail and was just a black screen. Shut the radio off. Held the PTT and...orange? button i think while turning it on and the red light flashed then went solid and i was able to redo the fw upgrade and problem solved on that one radio
And finally am getting the Firmware Upgraded Successfully message, but after the upgrade I'm having the same issue.
I'm wondering if there is a new method of 'exiting' the DL mode on the radio?

Fixed

The H series upgrade process is in 2 steps. It will do its 1st part then say success on the batch upgrade program then have to click upgrade again to do the second part. This only applies if you have the manual box checked in the top right.
If you use auto then it does both parts by itself and you should see on the screen on the radio upgrade complete and shows the new fw version on it and a option on the radio to click ok

If you dont get that msg on the radio it didnt upgrade correctly and just try again.

Still getting the error that the bluetooth file does not exist. I guess I'll have to wait for the new firmware to be released.

so I don't get the 2 step process. It's only one step on my end, the radio doesn't reboot or anything.

Unless I'm missing something very obvious.

Your trying to update the HP not a PD?
When i updated 40 HP radios i loaded the terminal batch tool. Clicked AUTO in the top right. Plugged the radio in and hit upgrade. Started its process and after 60 seconds ish it said upgrade success or something similar and it was starting the second part that took alot longer.

Dont have a radio with me at the moment or id reload the fw and get a video of it. But if you click auto and retry the process again and wait until the radio reboots and shows the upgrade was success on the screen and shows the firmware version and push the - - to confirm

Will have an entire new look on the display and icons different. So if the display looks the same then it didnt take. Only have 1 issues out of the 40+ radios iv upgraded

What I did was the manual process, got the BT error, waited, and errored out. Then again, same result. Tried a restore, errored that can't roll back a version. When I power on the radio I get 3 red flashes on the indicator light, and a blank white screen, till I power it off.
No matter how many times I try the manual or the automatic process, it says it succeeds with the upgrade, but nothing changes on the actual radio. It's in a stuck state. No errors, no radio :)

3 red flashes means its in FW upgrade mode. Programming cable your using. Does it have a switch on it? one that says CPS and the other FW? If so make sure its in FW mode for doing upgrades. And CPS when not. Change the switch when the radio is off not on too

Whats the model number of the radio? See if i can get you a different restore file

The cable doesn't have a switch. I always upgraded these by pressing the PTT+TK buttons while turning on.

It stays on this mode even when the cable isn't connected. Just standalone.

Model is HP-782 BT/GPS

The PC152 cable does not have a CPS/DL switch. Or is there a version of this cable with a switch?

Hi, I have problem too, when I was trying to upgrade my HP685 to FW V3.0.12.015 first i had successful information about upgrade L2 and my hytera has reset to white screen, but I had to upgrade L3, so I took out the battery and put it back in and then my PC said "Unknown usb device (device descriptor request failed)" and my CPS and DMR Upgrade don't se connected hytera. Anyone had this issue ? What I can do with this?

No matter what I try, the system remains stuck in this state. The Upgrade tool doesn't appear to attempt an L2 or L3 upgrade. It simply runs, reboots, and displays "USB:2(1.0) Upgrading Finished." In Auto Mode, it keeps repeating this cycle endlessly.
