• To anyone looking to acquire commercial radio programming software:

All requests will be deleted and a forum infraction issued. Your PM's are not private and the administration has the right to read them if there's a hint to criminal activity.

If you are having trouble legally obtaining software please state so. We do not want any hurt feelings when your vague post is mistaken for a free request. It is YOUR responsibility to properly word your request.

To obtain Motorola software see the Sticky in the Motorola forum.

The various other vendors often permit their dealers to sell the software online (i.e., Kenwood). Please use Google or some other search engine to find a dealer that sells the software. Typically each series or individual radio requires its own software package. Often the Kenwood software is less than $100 so don't be a cheapskate; just purchase it.

For M/A Com/Harris/GE, etc: there are two software packages that program all current and past radios. One package is for conventional programming and the other for trunked programming. The trunked package is in upwards of $2,500. The conventional package is more reasonable though is still several hundred dollars. The benefit is you do not need multiple versions for each radio (unlike Motorola).

Hi all,

I just upgraded my HP782 to FW 3.0.12.015 and the latest CPS I could find is V2.6.13.018.NA2. I am getting a Model and CPS do not match error when I try to read or write to the radio. The new firmware is nice. The battery gauge is now color and larger along with the time display and they changed the night mode background image (Pic Below.) Just can't seem to program it now. Is there a newer CPS that hasn't been fully released yet to work with FW V3?

Thanks for the help.

I'm not sure why you would upgrade to a v3 firmware and expect v2 CPS to work with it. Clearly that'll be an issue.

I know Hytera Canada has released v3 CPS, but not the firmware. Still working on issues with it apparently.

The dealer I bought it from has been posting the regular FW updates and CPS to match since I bought the radio in 2023. There was a new CPS with the FW this time like has been the case throughout the last two years but I was unaware that it was the wrong version they posted. No big deal, all is well now and for those wondering the new CPS to go with FW v3 for the HP782 (maybe other models, I don't know) is 3.0.11.031NA2.

Thanks for the help everyone.
