I have been logging I-Calls lately and have been getting a lot of normal radio traffic on them, Just how exaclty do these work? I thought they were radio to radio traffic ID numbers (700000).
I just noticed something on the ID of these I-Calls that are normal radio traffic. They are the same ID'd with just a 7 (tpd 31024/731024) in front of them. But what makes them show up as I-Calls?
Freqed,
I too get that sometimes on my 796D. I think the scanner gets confused and logs some of the regualr IDs as I-calls. I just ignore them because I know which are real and which are not. Just FYI I am getting more digital I-calls then ever. Most of them are Telecom doing testing but one or two was thought to be TPD based on what was said and the others were encrypted.
When I am searching on my 296D with all known talkgroups locked out, the I-Calls are sometimes part of a normal dispatch or call. I have noticed this especially when the dispatch or call is monitored on the Pro-96. Alot strange I-Calls take place, some of them are only a few words or one sided!
