A new (Android) beta version is available. Some changes contained in it:
  • Added a setting which can be used to have [Calls] appended to titles in the directory for feeds that are really Calls playlists (to help distinguish feeds when a Calls feed and a non-Calls feed have the same title). To get to the setting, tap Settings, then select "Directory Settings", and scroll down.
  • The "Clips" button on the player screen is now available when the last 30 seconds of audio is composed of only mp3 files. The button isn't available if the last 30 seconds of audio contains m4a files. I'm working on handling them.
Having (Calls) at the end of the title is a great addition. I've been listening to my own calls nodes for the past few days and it's working great. The android auto works great too.

Scanner tags not working here. They work in Scanner Radio Pro.

Yes, the tags aren't displayed for feeds that are encoded at a variable bit rate. I need to make a change to the app to be able to support them. I disabled the decoding of them for VBR feeds last October once it was reported to me how inaccurate the timing of them can become over time.

Also, I don't believe the Pro version is in the app store anymore, at least that I can see, which would explain it being outdated. The Pro features have been integrated into the regular app. I have the Pro version too and had to get the regular version for the updated functionality.
Why was the pro version removed?

This is exciting... will be waiting on the edge of my seat for the iOS version. Just converted my other line to iOS last month. :geek:

It is now all in one app, with you purchasing it in the app and the added features are unlocked, rather than in two apps. This is very common in most apps now adays
I always ran both apps so I could listen to more than 1 feed at a time. I suppose I still can but one app won't be updated anymore.

Any ideas as to why the streams seem to stop when the device screen turns off? Happens on the beta app and also seems to happen on the webpage as well. Maybe something with the calls platform?

That will happen if your phone's battery saving feature is blocking the app from being able to access the Internet when the app isn't visible on the screen. Go into your phone's settings area, then select Scanner Radio, and look for settings that restrict background data usage and check battery optimization settings.

Thank you so much for that information. On my Samsung, I have Never Auto Sleep selected for Scanner Radio. The scanner stream through Broadcastify that we used to always listen to was discontinued a week ago so I am trying to find an alternate way to still listen. It seems "calls" is the only accessible way at this time.

This is an outstanding addition to the app and 1 of the most sought after additions since calls was created. It works good on my phone, only slight tweak I would be interested in seeing is a time stamp of each "call" as the audio is received to make sure its the current call and not pulling previous time period calls by error

Dose Scanner Radio offer a free paid version for feed providers to RR?

If you enter your Broadcastify.com credentials in the app's "General Settings" area and check the "Are you a feed provider?" checkbox the app's Pro features will be enabled as long as you have at least one feed online.
