Ok, thanks. I was wondering if it was worth it to pick up an 8200 as well but I will probably just stick with the R30.

Are new AR8200s still available for purchase?
I thought they were long discontinued by AOR.

I have an old AR8600, the base version of the AR8200, and AOR doesn't even service the AR8600 anymore.

The way I have always read the HRO stock status is -- if a site has a check mark with a solid background, that means the physical store has that product in stock so you could walk in and buy it and take it home with you. If the site has a check mark, but not a solid background (i.e. a clear background), that meant the store didn't have it in stock at that store but you could walk in and buy the product but it would either ship from a nearby store to you or HRO would have the other nearby store get it to that store so you could pick it up the next day or so. No check mark meant that store didn't have the product and probably couldn't get it moved from another store to that store for you to pick it up.

When I checked this morning, there were 4 sites with check marks with solid backgrounds and 5 or 6 with check marks but clear backgrounds. That meant there were at least 4 ICOM R30 receivers available thru HRO but maybe no more than 4. It could be all 4 sold this morning.

theantennafarm.com still has AOR AR-8200s on their website with an "add to cart" button next to them. If not there is always ebay and other sources.

Wow, $869.95 for a "very dated technology" handheld😮

The reason I sold my AR8200 was principally because, fairly regularly, it would freeze up and become completely unresponsive. Would have to remove the batteries to turn it off and then reinsert them and power it up again.

I've been watching HRO IC-R30 stock levels for a couple or so months (they've been gradually declining).

For it to suddenly go completely out of stock from the stock levels indicated this morning is odd.

I guess it's possible someone or some organization scooped them all up.

Don't believe any rumors, I DID NOT order 8 ICOM R30 receivers last night. :) :) Just making a fun comment. I agree, that drop to zero seemed awful fast.

Weird, you search on Amazon for an IC-R30 and it's listed as in stock from HRO for a mere $799.95😮
