the 150 is not listed, but might work.
@ProScan just needs to edit that. Because, The latest version of Proscan(v24.7) is updated to include the SDS150, in the 'Scanner Type'.

Didn't more recent firmware (100/200) and (one would assume the newer 150 also), address this (minimize the housekeeping delay?
I don't think it's "2 seconds" anymore....
I think the housekeeping feature was eliminated years ago. I could be wrong tho.

I'm not sure what the problem is with your setup, but it's important to read up on Control Channel Only scanning, which Uniden scanners utilize. On trunked systems, it,s only scanning the Control Channel.

Not exactly correct. When a trunking scanner hops to a control channel, what it's doing is looking at the data stream for talkgroups in your scan list. Changing that hold time increases or decreases the amount of time the scanner will check that system looking for activity.

On a really busy system, it's entirely possible for one radio to miss a transmission that the other picks up, simply because of the sheer amount of data flying across the control channel; there's not only "active talkgroup" flags (channel grants), but channel grants for private calls (aka I-Calls), channel grants for data signals, priority markers, inbound and outbound status words, and various other pieces of data that work in the background and have little to do with actual monitoring. The more system-related data coming across versus active talkgroup flags means you could miss an active talkgroup with a shorter hold time.

if you're only monitoring one system with a single site, and nothing else, hold time is basically moot, as the scanner is going to be sitting on that control channel all the time, unless it shifts to a working (voice) channel. However, once you throw additional systems to monitor into the mix, things will slow down, as the radio has to monitor each system for X number of seconds before it shifts to another. If you're monitoring 10 systems and hold time is set to 2, that's 20 seconds to get through the whole list, assuming nobody says anything. Longer hold time will increase the amount of time it takes to scan everything; on the other hand, shorter hold time means you could miss more.

Best idea is to work a combination of limiting the number of systems and sites you program, eliminating sites you cannot receive, and fiddling the hold time based on your area and the number of systems you're monitoring; there's no real "one size fits all" solution.

I think ARC536 is misleading you, or it does not have an actual 150 profile...
They are greyed out in Uniden Sentinel.

I'd recommend you use Sentinel.
Or, better yet, the BEST program for editing favorites (and many other things) is ProScan.
So with the SDS150 one does not program filters. One thing I did wonder about the SDS scanners is if you monitor multiple Favorites List does it take longer to scan through than if you monitor the same amount of P25 systems in one single favorites list. Keep in mind, for each trunking system you can set the Hold Time, or the amount of time the scanner will sit monitoring the control channel for that specific trunking system. But even if you set the Hold time to 0 seconds, monitoring a system with poor control channel decode or monitoring a system with lots of potential control channels like a Harris system can still slow down the scanning speed just a tick. Also make sure that if you have any conventional systems or channels mixed in that you set the squelch for each channel to 2 or more. Even if you assign the channel a PL tone or a NAC (For P25 conventional channels) setting the squelch below 2 will delay scanning. These are just a few tips and observations while working with the SDS150 and many other Uniden Scanners.

ProScan is probably the best overall scanner software - and has stellar support

If I remember correctly, he came out with an update to the software that supported the 150 either the day of the 150's release or the very next day. Yes, ProScan supports 150 (speaking from experience as a proud owner of a 150) and yes, @ProScan (AKA Bob) is very much on top of things which is why I highly recommend ProScan software :D

New owner of an SDS150 and I'm trying to get it figured out. There's a little learning curve here over my trusty Whistler WS1040. Right now, I'm trying to figure out the scan speed. It seems slow to me, and I'm even missing the first part of some transmissions because of it, I suspect.

I have turned OFF Nationwide / zip code scanning and am scanning only from 2 favorites lists. One Favorites List consists of 5 different local conventional systems, and each system has between 2-5 frequencies (a total of 25-30 frequencies total in the first favorites list) that are a mixture of NFM and P25 Conventional. The other Favorites List is one conventional system that has a total of five P25 conventional only frequencies. Between two Favorites Lists, I'd say a total of 35-ish frequencies are being scanned.

I've verified that EVERYTHING is turned off except for the two Fav Lists that I am interested in. I have turned OFF all filtering for each single frequency programmed in. I have set the "squelch" at the 2 setting, which is what I've read is recommended. I am not in an RF dense area at all, so there's no way I'm being hammered by intermod. I have the "hold time" set to "0". I did notice on some prior experimenting that when I increased the "hold time", it slowed down scanning. I had "hold time" confused for "delay time".

Time and time again, though, my WS1040 is stopping and grabbing transmissions that the SDS150 misses or is late stopping on. Hard for me to believe that a $950 piece of engineering marvel is being outperformed on NFM and Conventional P25 by a $300 five-year-old scanner. I just refuse to buy that, so I'm thinking that there's something else somewhere that needs adjusted.

Is this really the case, or is the scanner "scanning faster" than the display can update? I'd like to think that if the display updated as fast as the scanner actually was scanning, it would be a total blur and consumers might not like that, just a thought, I don't know.

Assistance please?
How did you turn all filtering off? Did you program with Sent? Did you choose targer as sds150? The 150 only has ifx and no filter options.. Perhaps you selected to program as sds100 thus slowing down the scan speed?

For DMR the max time between TG update information are 360mS and are probably something similar in P25. The scanner can be set to 0 and 1 sec hold time but the actual time the scanner stays on a control channels are at least 1,5 sec and will have a chance to receive the TG info at least 3-4 times. So it's not a system issues but a scanner issue if information are lost in the decode process.

If I monitor using DSD-FME or similar programs and have a Whistler scanner monitoring a couple of CAP+ DMR system it has a 100% decode rate of active conversations. Doing the same with any Uniden scanner will produce something like a 90% chance of hearing that same conversation. I can see that sometimes the scanner just scans past that system while there's a TG conversation active and it catches it first on the next scancycle. So there seems to be something not quite right in its digital decode process handling.

Uniden came out with a new firmware release that seems to have improved digital decoding so it will be interesting to try it out when it comes available for my own scanners.
