Icom R5 Programming

Can you program this little radio manually? Or does it have to be programmed with a computer? I don't see any number buttons

The Icom-R5 can be programmed manually but it will take you a while you are better of buying the R5 software and loaded up with frequencies and save the file and you can also do your settings from the Pc.I had my R5 for 6 months and i cannot programm it manually and i got the software and its easier that way.

An option to buying the Icom software is to download the free "tk5" programmer:

http://parnass.org/tk5/

You'll still need the programing cable, though. The R5 can be programmed from the limited keypad but it's a pain beyond more than a few channels.

I've used the "tk5" software before and once you get the hang of it, it's pretty easy.
