Tip for 1.5.2. In your VBS script, you should source the environment variable for Program Files so that you handle two cases...

1) 64bit systems, inwhich "Program Files" is for 64bit binaries and "Program Files (x86)" is for 32bit binaries. I forget the names of both variables right now, but they should be available to you in the WSH environment.

2) The User needs to be allowed to specify a path other than C:\. I have enough fun with Google politely assuming I want to put Google Earth into C:\.... In my case, I have an F:\ partition where I put most non-OS-related program installs (and there, I have separate 64bit and 32bit Program Files directories).

Thanks!

Oh, and I just found another good idea. Not sure how doable it is. To assist with identifying unknown UIDs, can you put that into the filename of the output MP3? And if the signal is too weak/bad and the UID can't be decoded in time, just omit it?

Kumba,

Thanks fro your input. The next release of ID Tracker III will have a real setup kit. I just moved to Windows 7 64 bit and I am now better aware of the issues with Windows 7. I plan on making a few changes to make ID Tracker III more friendly on Windows 7.

ID Tracker III already creates an index with the UIDs in the comments. You just need to use the built in Audio Player for view the UIDs and add comments to each audio segment.

As for the un-decoded UIDs, I have seen it where the UID comes up as zero but have not tracked down the source of the problem. I will continue to investigate this issue.

Sorry for the slow response. Just got back from a business trip. I was able to recreate the problem so I should be able to figure it out. I usually do not scale up the display so I had not noticed it. I will take a look as soon as I get a chance.

i keep getting "Save Data" errors saying access to the .sys files for my TRS system files is denied. any insight into how to fix this?

What operating system are you using? Vista and Windows 7 have drastically changed the security of what can be accessed. I am working on changing the way ID Tracker works with the newer operating systems.
