The local LEO's can have all the "toys" they want as long as I can listen to them play...

Of course that's the case! But not really.

FAR MORE importantly is about the transparency and accountability all forms of government have kept promising (or have been lying about?) in the past decade and protecting the balance between an open government and an eventual "police state". It seems the more they claim something, the more they do the opposite.

It's all about politics and I'm sure the current administration more than any other in history would love to hide their every move from the public, any way they can....

I wonder if the Troopers will follow suit. Including all the agencies they dragged into their encryption scheme.

APD's New Online Scanner??

Hmmm, seems my RS digital scanners aren't picking up APD broadcasts. Did I miss a note somewhere else here in the forums reference the new APD online scanner & how it affected broadcasts?

I understand the online delay audio...need to unscramble my brain? Who knows & if so, THANK YOU for the explanation.

Good to know there's still a few people in government that know "free federal money" isn't really free in the end and it comes with many strings attached. Federal grants was the only reason the state has their fancy radio system that blocks their own citizens from listening.

Wait until the Fed comes knocking wanting a return on their "investment" citing a clause or other technical fine print in the conditions of accepting their grants. Never mind that after the money runs out eventually, then the state needs to scramble to find a way to keep funding the things that started with a grant. Guess what at that point? Yep, keep increasing taxes on the citizens to pay for the state's unnecessary toys and fund our own demise.
