Whichever route you take, whether the Cassiar or the classic Alcan, buy a copy of "The Milepost" https://www.themilepost.com/ for your trip. By far the best source of info and guidebook. It has very detailed road logs of virtually every road to Alaska and within Alaska. I would not make the drive without a copy.
