Given the proximity of the syrup reservoir to the heating element, syrup will be warmed whether you want it warmed or not. So if you want it warmed, it's a feature. If not, it's coolant to reduce heat transfer between the waffle maker and the actual scanner.

You can have whatever flavors of syrup you use to fill the reservoir.

I guess I'll have to wait for the IHOP Signature Edition. Multiple syrup flavors selected by Startup Key when the scanner is booted up.

I have learned my lesson on these “feature promises” and I will never ever purchase another food preparation device again.
The last guy was promising an internal pancake maker with a syrup dispenser and I am still waiting for the syrup dispenser. Even worse, he is now selling a license to enable a jelly dispenser.
I’m out.. going back to oatmeal...
