None of the information that was sent to me mentioned the C2C stuff at all, my guess is because Troop 3 is being divided even further, they won't have a need for them.Does your "source" know if District-Chicago's current Car-2-car channel will be the primary Troop 3 car-2-car, or will they repurpose District 2 & 5's car-to car?
The info didn't include the exact TG names, only the general information of the new areas. Each Troop 3 group has a color association as well, North (Yellow), Middle (Blue), South (Red), and Southwest (Green). There is a bit of info on what colors cover what areas, but it's too much to fit into this post, I'm a few hours southwest of Chicago, and I don't know enough about the Chicago area to decipher itAnother question on Troop 3..which expressways will be on the new channels? Are they named Troop 3-North or 3-North, or 3-N for example?
Each subzone (North, Middle, etc) will be on their own Primary TG. Those are listed in my initial post. Will ALL areas of Troop be on the Primary talkgroup?

I'll shoot you a PM when I return home.Well I'm in the city, so feel free to post it here, or send me a private message, I'm interested.
All current TalkGroups will remain in place, and will be renamed (see new config below). Each troop will use the current "A" TalkGroups from each current District as either Primary or Secondary. The lower of the 2 will act as the new "Primary", the higher of the two will act as the new "Secondary". Not all troops will use the Secondary talkgroups 24/7, however I would assume during high loads they will.
Examples:
Troop 1:
Troop 2:
- Primary (Current District 1A)
- Secondary (Current District 16A)
- Primary (Current 7A)
- Secondary (Current 17A)
Exceptions:
Troop 7 (Current D10) won't have a secondary TG. Until configurations are completed, current "B" TalkGroups will be utilized.
Troop 3:
- North: D2-A
- Middle: DC-C
- South: DC-D
- Southwest: D5-A
- Admin/Other: DC-A
EDIT: I replied in a post below, this came directly from a contact, who was notified of the change by the state.

Illinois State Police Welcomes New Troopers With Cadet Class 138 Graduation
ISP Rebuilds with 368 New Troopers Added Since 2019 SPRINGFIELD, IL-(Effingham Radio)- The Illinois State Poli...www.effinghamradio.com
32 to District-Chicago (Troop 3)
10 to Collinsville (Troop 8)
I wonder if they'll continue with the first number representing the troop #, and the last few as the unit ID. This system could still work, but each troop would have quite a few numbers attached. It'll be interesting to hear what radio signatures they'll be given.

Yeah, I'm not sure what they'll end up doing, but they may not change anything at all. Guess we'll find out.3-501/8-501
Appreciate the info on the talkgroup usage. So am I correct in assuming that the North talkgroup will be used for the rural areas of District 2 as well (Boone, Mc Henry, Kane, etc counties)?
So whats gonna be used for non-highways, such as Boone, DeKalb, Kane, Kendall, Grundy? Or is ISP still not gonna patrol them?

County Sheriff Dept will have to assist in helping ISP out. They will have some troopers for calls of service but they could be over an hour away or longer to respond to calls. ISP will be mainly focused now in interdiction teams in and around Chicago.
