• To anyone looking to acquire commercial radio programming software:

Please do not make requests for copies of radio programming software which is sold (or was sold) by the manufacturer for any monetary value. All requests will be deleted and a forum infraction issued. Making a request such as this is attempting to engage in software piracy and this forum cannot be involved or associated with this activity. The same goes for any private transaction via Private Message. Even if you attempt to engage in this activity in PM's we will still enforce the forum rules. Your PM's are not private and the administration has the right to read them if there's a hint to criminal activity.

If you are having trouble legally obtaining software please state so. We do not want any hurt feelings when your vague post is mistaken for a free request. It is YOUR responsibility to properly word your request.

To obtain Motorola software see the Sticky in the Motorola forum.

The various other vendors often permit their dealers to sell the software online (i.e., Kenwood). Please use Google or some other search engine to find a dealer that sells the software. Typically each series or individual radio requires its own software package. Often the Kenwood software is less than $100 so don't be a cheapskate; just purchase it.

For M/A Com/Harris/GE, etc: there are two software packages that program all current and past radios. One package is for conventional programming and the other for trunked programming. The trunked package is in upwards of $2,500. The conventional package is more reasonable though is still several hundred dollars. The benefit is you do not need multiple versions for each radio (unlike Motorola).

Hello I have had my VHF HT1250 for about 4 years.. Since I'm in Law Enforcement I always had it password protected to that if lost or stolen no one could accidently transmit. Now the password has always been the same.. I actually left it at a friends and the radio was only left for about 1 hour.. during that hour I'm sure that he must have tried to guess the password. He dont have software or even know how to program radios.. But now the radio will not let me log in.

If you turn the main power on it says RADIO LOCKED.. Usually it would say ENTER PASSWORD.. I would normally enter my password and the radio beeps and Its all good until I were to shut it back off.. But this darn thing only will say RADIO LOCKED and not allow me to do anything.. no buttons or anything.. This Radio had the full keypad..

I have a RIB and the file that was saved when I programmed it 4 years ago.. I cannot send data to the radio but I can read it save it locally on the laptop but no matter what I cannot change my password or uncheck it to allow me to disable login..

I never changed the password and it is still the same as 4 years ago.. THis is the first time that I have had this problem..

Does anyone know a trick to get this back online? I cannot get no matter what buttons I press while turning on power or any combo of buttons while power on battery off.. I have been trying this for a while to figure it out..

I took the radio to a Moto shop and even they have never seen it before.. They said sounds like someone had tried to many times to figure out the password and hard locked it.. but no one knows how to unlock the darn thing ...

Any help would be great..?? Any Ideas??
