Hi. I'm looking at getting an XTS, either a 2500 or 5000. My question is, can I non-affiliate monitor p25 and also analog uhf at the same time? I want to monitor fire/pd but need also hear as well as talk on uhf.

Buy a scanner to listen. And from I can tell by your post you want to listen and talk. Again buy a scanner or talk to your agencies radio techs and they can point you in the right direction.

Since it’s Monday tomorrow, slap your radio down on the desk of your system administrator and he’ll fix you right up in a hurry and the proper way.
I’m a first responder as well and I’ve been programming these Motorolas for 20 years myself, but programming a personal radio for work…absolutely not. It goes straight to the system administrator. Those are the rules, that’s why the admin is here anyway, I don’t get why so many people are so scared of their sys admin 🤔

unless your system you want to listen to is also UHF you are probably better off getting a scanner
