Okay, so I've been searching for the new Type II TGIDs for the Jefferson Parish "Old Analog" system and so far I've found quite a few. My question is: how in the world will I ever be able to tell exactly what some of these are? I mean, after listening for awhile I can tell the difference between the main groups such as Animal Control, Drainage, Code Enforcement, etc., but how am I going to know if it's "Animal Control Dynamic Regrouping" or "Drainage Superintendent" or any of the other subdivisions?

Is there some way to tell other than guessing? It's very rare that I hear anyone refer to their own section by name.

Thanks!

EDIT: Semi-related. Is the JP APCO25 system dead or what?

Yeah, it would be nice if an insider could provide the new type II talkgroups id’s.

It really makes one wonder what is the real plan... Like 1700 XTS3000's just sitting there...

One possibility is that all JP departments move to digital on 7709... But that would be wasting the coverage of that system for agencies that have no need to talk in Plaq and St Bernard...

Or maybe a "first responder" system for the next disaster that is linked to to 700 system.

Or, like milf said, MAYBE ________. You can fill in the blanks. Still, where did all those radios go?

I have occasionally heard some activity on 7709... The old Laser talkgroup comes to mind.

Who knows.

Do you mean to tell me you haven't "hooked" one of those XTS3000's.

Come on, Lou... You know me better :)

I still have enough UHF GE MPRs and MPSs to issue to entire district!

I would love a couple of XTS 3000's if I could get em reprogged for say.. Indy MECA, or the SAFE-T.. lol! Though I would prolly be better off kidnapping an XTS 5000 for the UCON, and the 700 stuff for SAFE-T.. ohh well lil ole law abiding.. sorta.. me! LOL!
