I picked up a JPS NIR-10 today to try out against my usual FL-3 audio filter (and it was cheap and looked interesting).
I must admit to being rather unimpressed by DSP audio filtering even on quite modern rigs, as the audio becomes unreadable even at low DSP settings.
However the NIR-10 seems to work quite well and after some playing I’m getting good results.
I notice that the Firmware version of mine is Rev2 but there were also V3 and V4 later.
Does anyone use these any more and is there a real benefit to the later firmware versions ?
Are V3 and V4 available for download somewhere as I could (probably) write them to some Proms and upgrade my unit if it’s worth the hassle.
