Does anyone have a map of train signals for the CPKC? Open railway map does not show anything for central Minnesota.
What does a non-luminating distant signal mean or what is the aspect of an absolute signal that proceeds a non-luminating distant signal? (pertaining to the CPKC)
Periodically, I hear a tone on the road channel, that sounds like {boop, boop}, what does that tone mean? Thanks

I’m not sure what you mean by “non-luminating” signal. I think Central Minnesota is former Soo and DM&E territory, so this should be what you’re looking for:

As regards the tone, it’s probably an answer-back tone telling a train the dispatcher has been alerted that someone wants to talk; frequently all base stations in an area will emit this tone when the dispatcher is called, but the dispatcher will only be heard on the base station closest to the train that called.

The tone up you hear is actually DTMF signaling. The train will dial out on its radio and you hear basically dee doo, then the dispatcher radio emits a ringing bonk like signal. Followed be the dispatcher voice reply.
