How is the console attached to the floor?

JWhipple said:Originally I had done it via some screws/washers into the carpeting, but when I saw how it turned out and decided it was going to be a permenant fixture in the truck, I used some self-tapping sheet metal screws and bolted it down, and used RTV on the underside of the truck there they came out to make a seal. Yes, I realize that I was saying "NO HOLES DRILLED!" but this just turned out way better than I expected, and I have zero intentions of ever removing the console until I sell.

n3bxv said:Thanks, I recently bought a Troy Console on Ebay and wanted to know how others mounted consoles to the floor. Based on your recommendation I ordered the AST-TMK and NMO mount from AES and it looks to be a well built and rugged piece.

Although I haven't seen much ham related from Astatic, they have been in the CB microphone business for a long time and I know they are the best you can get for that application... Based on that knowledge I figured I'd give them a shot, and don't regret it one bit!
