Repost from the SCAN-L List posted by "Radio Lady" <la_seniorpsr@HOTMAIL.COM>
Cut-over to LAPD's "new" frequencies should happen anytime between Sunday
and Tuesday, probably some time Monday morning.
Harry Marnell has the most recent list I'm aware of, at
http://harrymarnell.com/lapd-freqs.htm
- All Astro radios are able to use the Citywide and Bureau tac frequencies
in either simplex or duplex mode, and it appears the Air units at least are
using simplex most of the time. Note that the Tac frequencies are in
different channels than before.
- Only two "Bureau Tac" frequencies per bureau, but now there are 7
Citywide tac frequencies; new CW-tac 7 is former Transit channel, Ch 177,
484.9875.
- "Simplex/Fallback" channels 201-226 are no longer available.
- New "Fallback/enhanced" channels are on Ch 101-126, one assigned to each
patrol area and traffic division. They are now duplex/simplex capable, but
Communications does not monitor them, and they use low-level repeaters
within their local division or bureau.
- "Hotshot / K9 / Air Unit" frequency is now in Ch 26 (former Transit
channel), 484.7125.
- new North Valley station will be using Channels 19 and 119, but pending
its opening in early 2005, those channels can be used as needed.
- For interop with other agencies, officers will go to LASD Access, Ch 53
Analog, and obtain a Regional Tac/Mutual Aid frequency from the LASD
operator.
- CLEMARS UHF frequency, 460.025 (duplex only), now available in Channel
127.
- Channels 199 & 200 are place-holders only. Ch 199 displays which
division the particular radio is assigned to. Channel 200 says it's the
Codeplug.
Also, I see channels 32-35 are labeled as "STATE MA1 - STATE MA4," and the
display indicates analog and simplex only. I have no idea what these
frequencies are. Someone has suggested they might be the 453 MHz UCALL and
UTAC frequencies.
Maybe it will work better this time than when they tried it last Spring.
