The B is inserted by the CAD system to indicate the unit is in a BUSY status.
Thanks for the corrections and information, Jason.

What does "busy" mean? That they're not available period, or that they're on an incident but subject to being retoned, or ???

Up here in Humboldt most police agencies, other than CHP of course, have dropped most codes except the common crime codes (211, 459, 415, etc) in favor of LAPD-like plain language. The Sheriff's dept has even taken to using the word "busy" when a deputy is involved in an arrest, search, or whetever and isn't going to be available for calls for a while.

Busy is a Premier CAD term, it just means the unit is currently active on an incident. It could be a traffic stop, or even a dispatched party call. We ignore that B and just look at the Unit Status Detail to decide for ourselves if they are TOO busy for whatever we're trying to dispatch. ;)

P.S. Did you change your e-mail addr? I sent you one a week ago...

Thanks, Jason. Same email, but I was out of town with a family emergency and sans any decent internet access. I'll check my inbox and reply to ya.
