Dallas Fire Rescue has been working what's classified as a three alarm fire at an apartment complex in east Oak Cliff, not far south of downtown. There are 21 engine companies assigned, as well as 13 'rescues'. (FDR calls their EMS units "rescues" as opposed to "medic" or ambulance.) Both USAR teams were part of the response as well as a large number of other staff, including command level. (Responses counted via one of the online response links.

Shortly after 1:30 p.m., nearly 40 units were responding to the complex in the 400 block of east 9th Street.

An explosion caused a massive apartment fire in Oak Cliff, Dallas Fire Rescue said. One person has been taken to the hospital.
