Somehow picked up some traffic on Northeast Net from way over here about a chase in Larimer County. Switched over to scanDenver and sounds like the whole county is running hot to get somewhere. Supervisor Sam unit asking for Command page.

I think there was a wreck of some sort. Unk. if turd or Officer was injured.

FORT COLLINS (AP) - Larimer County authorities say a deputy has been taken to the hospital after a sheriff's cruiser rolled when it swerved to miss a pedestrian.

Authorities say the deputy was pursuing another vehicle in Fort Collins at about 3 a.m. Monday when the accident occurred.

Officials haven't released the deputy's name or any information about the injuries.

It's not yet known why the deputy was pursuing the other vehicle or how fast the cruiser was going.

Authorities say a police dog was in the cruiser but was not hurt.

Deputy Involved in Accident

Larimer County Sheriff’s Office Deputy Greg Hibler was involved in a vehicular accident at 2:45 A.M. on April 7, 2008, near the intersection of College Avenue and Willox north of Fort Collins.

Deputy Hibler was responding in emergency mode to assist his Sergeant in a vehicle pursuit in LaPorte. Hibler stated that when a pedestrian stepped in front of his vehicle, he swerved to avoid impact. Hibler’s vehicle collided with a lamppost and a tree. The unidentified pedestrian was uninjured and fled the scene. Hibler’s 2006 Expedition has been determined to be a total loss.

Deputy Hibler walked to the ambulance and was transported to Poudre Valley Hospital where he was checked and released earlier this morning, sore and achy but otherwise in good shape. Griffin, Hibler’s K-9, has been checked by his veterinarian and will be again this evening. Griffin is probably as sore as his partner but also in good shape.

It should be noted that this was Deputy Hibler’s second trip to the hospital during that shift. Earlier in the evening, Hibler was dispatched to a possible suicide attempt in Wellington. Upon arrival, Hibler found the subject had cut both his carotid arteries and losing a tremendous amount of blood. Hibler was able to control the bleeding until paramedics arrived. The subject has survived the incident. Deputy Hibler was transported to PVH and checked for pathogens.

Sheriff’s Alderden said, “Saving that man’s life, under the circumstances, was very courageous of Deputy Hibler and was definitely above and beyond the call of duty.”

Chase policies

There are some really embarassing small minded comments attached to that article.
Most are the "open mouth, insert foot" type stuff.
I can only hope that most of them were posted by readers who reside outside of Larimer County.
It is obvious that most of them are quite ignorant of what it takes to do the job and not inclined to learn.
