LASD “Charlie Ocean”

Hey guys,

I listen to the LASD Dispatch channels quite frequently and recently I’ve been hearing the term “Charlie Ocean” used by SCC. More specifically, SCC would say “241B1 responding Code 3 (to Loc) re Charlie Ocean.” I know that Charlie Ocean is a 911B spot for SEB to meet with station deputies, but what are they doing there specifically? And what’s the full abbreviation of CO.

Charlie Ocean is abbreviation for a Call Out or an operation in which SEB is rolling to handle.

Part of SEB's responsibilities is SWAT and what you are likely hearing is the team that is on call advising SCC that they're responding Code 3 from home.
SEB has one team on duty 24/7 at their quarters in East Los Angeles and a second team on call to respond from home or wherever.
