LCRA New site????

Very interesting digging I did, I found that Kerr County recently went with Motorola for a new countywide radio system. I found that they had a workshop on April 18th that I have Linked HERE. Very detailed coverage slides and all are up on that video, and it shows how the LCRA had planned 6 new sites for Kerr County in addition to two already budgeted sites:

Tierra Linda (pending on air for SW Gillespie)
Smokey Mountain (136.36 in Kerrville)

Mountain Home (5Star)
West Kerr Co (Branch)
Hunt
Granata
Mason Creek Sub (inside Bandera Co)
Camp Verde

From my understanding on the commissioners court minutes earlier this month, the LCRA proposal did not meet requirements for coverage from the RFP so they went with MSI. The LCRA proposal used Motorola radios for the mobiles and portables, and there may still be some cooperation with LCRA based on some of the banter by the commissioners. This is a 12-18 month planned project from the end of 2022.

Tierra Linda may have been passed over for Harper as the west Gillespie tower. It looks to be site 141.41 per a user in the area. I am not going to be able to RX it for a few weeks but I saw it show up as a neighbor today to Comfort, and it is reported as a neighbor to Fredericksburg. CC is currently 773.45625. WSAX468

Site 146.46 is heard medium strength from Yorktown area of DeWitt County. I suspect Goliad but I am not sure. I'll hunt it down while I am in this area the next few weeks.

146.46 could also be a southwestern Gonzales County site too, such as Smiley or Nixon. I'll know soon enough, so far it hasn't had any activity or affiliations

Took US 87 from SA to Cuero….not along there anywhere so that rules out Smiley, Westhoff and Nixon. The signal was strongest between Westhoff and Cuero and began to fade going into Cuero. I’m thinking it may be Yorktown after all. Will continue the hunt…..

146.46 is the LCRA tower at the Coleto Creek bridge on US 183 between Cuero and Goliad. Community is Weser. It’s been added to the database.
