Live Oak use to have a single site EDACS system and and one point they pulled some frequencies from that site to be used by Alamo Heights about 10 years ago or so for an additional site which Alamo Heights abandoned and went to the Pro Voice system. LCRA absorbed the original Live Oak system frequencies when they built out their P25 system and added the site to it's network.

And yes the 851.0125 is the 8CALL interop freq. Most agencies have an FCC licenses to run an 8Call repeater. (Which living in the area I have never heard them use)

They also patch the Friday roll call on the SA 5 talk group on the LCRA P25 system.

Patching

Ok, I need some lessons on Patching. BVFD just worked a scene where Airlife came in. Kendall Ops 3 was patched to Kendall OEM for airlife. I could not hear any traffic on either TG, only on TG 65314. I thought I would be able to here the conversations on any of the TG's that were patched??

Forgive me if patching has been covered before, if so please send me the link so I can understand it better.

I usually lock out the patch talk group which in this case would be 65314 and have heard traffic on the individual talk groups that are patched together. They might be patching 155.340 (VMED28) for AirLife through the OEM channel. The past couple years they like to use that for LZ coordination with most agencies besides users on the San Antonio system. And all the VMED or VFIRE are not repeated so you have to be close to hear them.

On the move
When Haarris talkgroups are patched, a SAID (System Assigned ID) is created. The two previous talkgroup ID's become null, and you can no longer monitor them with a scanner. A radio the is parked on of the original TG's will be moved to the SAID. Any radio on the system, that wants to scan the original TG's is out of luck until the patch is broke.

Yep. This is a carryover from EDACS and is one of several small but significant ways Harris P25 trunking differs from Motorola P25 trunking. Listeners need to be aware of this when submitting updates to the database.

SAID TGs will typically be in the 65xxx range on a P25 system and in the 15-xxx range on an EDACS system. SAIDs are assigned dynamically and will not be continually used for patching the same two talkgroups together.

Converse PD when they assist Bexar County SO will patch their East patrol channel to the CPD channel 2. All of the agencies in the Randolph area can also can patch any talk group from the Provoice system to the LCRA system through the LCRA 1-5 interop channels that are on both systems. Usually done with structure fires when multiple agencies respond but can be used with law enforcement when needed.

Hearing regular Schertz PD traffic on Wide 2 as well, seems they put all Schertz units on Wide 2 and just Cibolo units are using the PD primary
